Mitchell on his collection of 45 Mystery Shirts!

In our Fan Stories we highlight the biggest fans of Mystery United. This time it is the turn of football shirt collector Mitchell Rentmeester!
Where others may have just one shirt of their favorite club hanging in the closet, for Mitchell everything revolves around the diversity of football shirts. Thanks to Mystery United, his collection has grown significantly over the past few years.
At the very top of his list is the fourth kit of Taranto FC 23/24. The striking design immediately caught his attention and it became even more special because it included a Golden Ticket that refunded his purchase. This was one of our promotions during Black Week 2023.
Q&A with Mitchell
1. How many shirts have you received through Mystery United so far?
“Up to now that’s 45, and every box remains a surprise.”
2. What makes Mystery United different for you compared to other mystery companies?
“At the beginning I tried several Mystery companies, but I quickly stuck with Mystery United. The fast and reliable service is great, and the cards with facts about the clubs and shirts really add something extra.”
3. Where do you prefer to wear the shirts?
“Mostly at home or at the football club. People there are often curious about where that unusual shirt comes from.”
4. How has Mystery United changed your collection?
“Because of the Mystery Boxes, my collection has become much more diverse. I now have shirts from all kinds of countries and from clubs I would never have discovered otherwise.”
5. Are there still shirts you would like to add?
“For about a year now I’ve also been trying to collect all the Eredivisie clubs. So I would definitely appreciate Dutch shirts!”
Mitchell’s football traditions
Besides ordering Mystery Boxes, Mitchell also has a few fixed football traditions. Every year he goes on a weekend trip with his father to watch one or two matches, and of course a new shirt always comes home as well. Even on holiday he stays true to his passion, with at least half of his suitcase filled with football shirts.
For Mitchell it is not only about the collection itself but also about the moments around it. Whether it’s traveling with his father, wearing a shirt on holiday, or simply having a chat with someone about football.
