The biggest football tournament in the world is coming up: the World Cup. This time, it will be hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico. That means late nights watching not only the best players in the world, but also the best kits on the pitch.
With 48 teams, there are around 100 different shirts to choose from this year. Putting together a top 10 wasn’t easy, but we think we’ve done a pretty solid job. Including a surprising winner that probably won’t win the actual tournament. Enjoy our top 10 best World Cup shirts of 2026 below!
10. Japan – 2026 World Cup Home Shirt
We kick things off with one of the Netherlands’ group opponents: Japan. The iconic “Japan Blue” really stands out this year. The white wave patterns give the shirt an almost 3D effect.
The Japan crest is, as always, top-notch. And placing it together with the Adidas logo in the center of the shirt makes this one a winner for us.
Japan will be aiming for top spot in their group. They even managed to beat Brazil in a recent friendly. With players like Ueda, Mitoma and Kubo, this is a team to watch.
9. South Korea – 2026 World Cup Away Shirt
We stay in Asia, because South Korea has also delivered this year, especially with their away shirt. The purple floral pattern gives it a bold, almost artistic look.
Unlike many kits where the sleeves differ from the main design, here everything flows seamlessly together. The result is a shirt that feels both calm and vibrant at the same time.
8. Netherlands – 2026 World Cup Home Shirt
At number eight, we’ve got our own Dutch team. A bit of national pride is allowed, of course. And to be fair, the shirt itself looks great.
According to the KNVB, this is the brightest orange kit ever. The color fits the Dutch identity perfectly, the centered badge feels fresh, and the black details complete the look.
Will Koeman finally help the Netherlands overcome the heartbreaks of 1974, 1978 and 2010? We’re not fully convinced yet, but we’re open to being surprised.
7. France – 2026 World Cup Away Shirt
France takes seventh place with their away shirt. It’s inspired by the Statue of Liberty, highlighting the historical connection with host nation USA.
This mint-green beauty can be summed up in one word: clean. Subtle French flag details appear on the sleeves, while the golden rooster shines on the chest.
Can Deschamps’ team make one more run after losing the last final?
6. Germany – 2026 World Cup Home Shirt
At number six, we find Germany’s new home shirt. Well, “new” might not be the right word. You might recognize this design.
It’s clearly inspired by iconic 90s kits, especially the 1994 World Cup shirt. The classic zigzag/diamond pattern returns, but in a modern form.
With four stars above the badge representing their World Cup wins, this is a true classic.
5. Mexico – 2026 World Cup Third Shirt
One of the host nations, Mexico, comes in at number five. Personally, I’m a big fan of this one.
My very first football shirt was a black-and-green Mexico kit from the Copa América, and this one might be even better.
Adidas made a great move bringing back the classic logo, combined with the national colors. The detailed crest and Aztec-inspired pattern complete the look perfectly.
4. Spain – 2026 World Cup Away Shirt
Here it is: the reigning world champion. Players like Yamal, Olmo and Pedri will once again shine in Spain’s kit.
The design is inspired by Spain’s rich literary history, with elements from classic books and manuscripts. The color combination works beautifully, and the classic Adidas logo fits perfectly.
Spain has one clear goal: lifting the trophy again.
3. South Africa – 2026 World Cup Away Shirt
We had to wait for it, but finally: a shirt with a collar. South Africa delivers a real gem here.
The design is inspired by their iconic 2010 World Cup kit. It’s a tribute to a historic moment in their football history.
In a group with South Korea and Mexico, they’ll be aiming to reach the knockout stage.
2. Norway – 2026 World Cup Home Shirt
Norway’s home shirt is one of the best of the tournament, in our opinion. Why? The iconic Norwegian cross is beautifully integrated into the design.
The red base, combined with the dark blue cross and white outlines, creates a bold and recognizable look.
Inspired by the 1997 kit, but with a modern finish, this is one of our personal favorites.
1. Curaçao – 2026 World Cup Away Shirt
And finally, the deserved winner. Curaçao takes the top spot.
This shirt has everything. Story, culture and design come together perfectly. The pastel yellow base is inspired by the colorful buildings of Willemstad.
The Adidas stripes in orange, turquoise and pink add to the Caribbean feel. It almost feels like you’re there.
But what makes it even more special is the story behind it. Dick Advocaat achieved the impossible by guiding Curaçao to the World Cup. Now it’s up to Fred Rutten and a squad full of (former) Eredivisie players to continue that fairytale.
And there you have it: our top 10 best shirts of the 2026 World Cup.
A tournament where it’s not just about football, but also about identity. Each shirt tells its own story. From Japan’s deep blue to Curaçao’s colorful masterpiece.
