With the new Champions League season in full swing and the launch of our brand‑new Champions League Mystery Box, we’re once again in the heart of the magic of European top‑flight football. And what fits better with that than a tribute to the shirts that make those nights so legendary?
In this blog I’ve put together my favorite Champions League shirts from the past four seasons. We’ll go from Paris to Madrid, but also to less obvious places like Stuttgart.
10. Paris Saint-Germain – Fourth Shirt 2022-23
We open this list with Paris Saint‑Germain and the fourth shirt from 2022-23, made in collaboration with Michael Jordan’s brand. A shirt that immediately stood out. Especially because PSG wore it a lot in the Champions League.
In the group stage, PSG finished second behind Juventus. With players that other clubs could only dream of, such as Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi, this seemed like the year for Paris. But PSG once again showed that a big wallet alone doesn’t fill a trophy cabinet. Expectations were high, maybe too high. In the round of 16 it went wrong: Bayern Munich was clearly better over two legs and knocked PSG out with a 3-0 aggregate.
9. Ajax – Away Shirt 2022-23
In ninth place is Ajax with the beautiful away shirt from the 2022-23 Champions League season. Ajax is, of course, a true Champions League club, with the big ears trophy in the cabinet four times. But this season felt different from the years before.
The Amsterdam club had a tough draw. In a group with Liverpool, Napoli, and Rangers it quickly became clear that progressing would be difficult. Ajax finished third in the group and was out already in the group stage.
8. AC Milan – Home Shirt 2022-23
At number eight is the iconic home shirt of AC Milan from 2022-23. The seven‑time CL winners got to dream of former glory again this season.
After a nice win over Napoli in the quarter‑final, Milan faced a charged semi‑final against city rivals Inter, but it ended in disappointment: Inter took the final ticket.
On shirt style, however, Milan won. With a classic red‑and‑black design and the Italian flag subtly worked into the sleeves, it simply belongs in the Champions League.
The cool thing is that we also have this shirt in our range! You could get it from one of our Mystery Boxes. And because we love the shirt so much, you can also grab it directly via our Exclusives!
7. Bayern Munich – Third Shirt 2024-25
In seventh place is Bayern Munich with the third shirt from the 2024-25 Champions League season. A shirt that gained extra significance because of the incredibly exciting quarter‑final against Inter Milan. Over two legs, Inter eventually came out on top 4-3.
But apart from that match, this shirt is just a gem. The retro vibe with the old Adidas logo and the classic Bayern badge is exactly what you want. Add that little collar on top and you immediately understand why this shirt deserves a spot in the top 10!
6. VFB Stuttgart – CL Home Shirt 2024-25
Stuttgart played in the Champions League for the first time in years, and that in itself is an achievement you can only respect. The campaign started tough, away at Real Madrid. Yet Stuttgart showed in the group stage that they weren’t just there for the ride. They recorded impressive results, with the highlight being a late 0-1 win against Juventus in injury time. Slovan Bratislava and Young Boys were also convincingly beaten. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t quite enough for the play‑offs.
The shirt also fit that Champions League campaign perfectly. Specially made for the Champions League, clean white, with that red band down the middle and gold details that make it just a little bit more special. Of course with the Champions League badge on the sleeve and a nice collar as a finishing touch. Not overly complicated, but strong for precisely that reason.
5. FC Barcelona – Away Shirt 2024-25
This away shirt from FC Barcelona belongs in the top 5 for me. And honestly, we could just as well have chosen the home shirt because that was insanely beautiful too. But our slight preference goes to the away shirt.
Barcelona’s Champions League adventure ended in the semi‑final, and what a one. Against Inter Milan we got a two‑leg tie any football fan would relish. After extra time it eventually finished 6-7 for Inter. One of those nights where everything was in it and afterwards you think, how did this even really happen?
And then the shirt, pitch black, super clean, with the logo that has a kind of glow to it making it look even cooler. Subtle blue and red are also incorporated, just enough to keep it recognizably Barça. A shirt you don’t just put on for a match, but you can also wear casually.
4. Manchester United – Third Shirt 2023-24
In fourth place is Manchester United with the third shirt from the 2023-24 season. Sporting‑wise it wasn’t a success story. United finished last in the group, behind Galatasaray, FC Copenhagen, and Bayern Munich. Painful, especially for a club with such a name in Europe.
This shirt, however, makes up for a lot. It’s just a very beautiful third kit with a fantastic logo that really stands out. And if you’re lucky, you might find this shirt in one of our Mystery Boxes. This gem is also part of our extensive collection.
3. Napoli – Away Shirt 2025-26
Napoli’s away shirt this season belongs in the top 3 for me. This shirt kind of salvages the club’s Champions League campaign, because the group stage wasn’t exactly something to write home about. The low point was of course that painful 6-2 defeat against PSV… one of those nights where everything went wrong. Noa Lang might still scratch his head about his move to Italy.
But anyway, the shirt, what a kit. Napoli went for a sort of sandy base with a subtle pattern woven in, full of references to Naples. Because of the soft sandy color and that pattern, the shirt has something classy without it being over the top. Truly a top piece for any collection.
2. Real Madrid – Home Shirt 2023-24
A shirt that can’t be missing from a Champions League list is, of course, Real Madrid’s. The undisputed kings of the Champions League with 15 titles now. And in 2023-24 they did it again, winning 2-0 in the final at Wembley against Borussia Dortmund.
The pristine white, beautiful gold details, and no crazy extras. Simple, but very beautiful, just like their Champions League campaign really. They don’t always do everything perfectly, but at the end of the day, they often lift that trophy again. Real stays Real.
1. Juventus – Third Shirt 2024-25
The third Italian club already in this list, and for us also the rightful number one. Because what a shirt the Old Lady delivered here. Navy blue with gold really turns out to be a golden combo. The result is a shirt that stands head and shoulders above the rest.
On the pitch, Juventus stood far less above the rest. The Champions League campaign was unfortunately not nearly as strong as the shirt. Because even though PSV isn’t on this list with a shirt, they did show they can hurt top clubs. In the knock‑outs they even brought Juventus to their knees and the Eindhoven side won over two legs 4-3.
And that’s it: ten Champions League shirts that have stuck with me over the past few years! A great mix of creative designs and real classics.
